    What is this place and who am I?

    I don’t really know who I am. I’m not sure that I am done becoming a person yet. The first question is a lot easier to answer. This is a blog, nothing more and nothing less. Try as I might, I can’t define it any further so there’s a few categories of things I post about.

    Comment.

    I trained as a journalist and have a very strong instinct to have an opinion on everything. Almost. I love a good debate/rant and despite coming across as fairly single minded, I honestly do try to look at things from all angles. And then I usually disregard this instinct and complain.

    Health.

    I don’t collect illnesses (seriously, what kind of hobby is that?), but I do have a few health problems that have been known to interfere with my daily life. The big ones are Fibromyalgia and Hypermobility Syndrome. I’ve also had dealings with Depression, General Anxiety Disorder and Emetophobia.

    Beauty.

    I’m a girl. Woman. Female. Lady. Whatever. Despite having resisted all things girly in the past, I’ve grown to accept that there is always going to be a part of me that squeals with unbridled delight when I get a new eyeshadow. I did a BTEC in Make-up a while ago, mainly because I love cosmetics.

    Crafts.

    I make things. I generally suck at it, but I try anyway. Gold stars are for effort right? I’m a creative soul, me.

    Digital.

    I mentioned my training, right? I graduated as a journalist just as the digital age was hitting its stride. Twitter, Facebook, SEO et al. I kind of fell into digital marketing as a career path, but now I’ve been wandering along it for a while I bloody love the view.

    Cats.

    If you don’t love cats or at least find them amusing, there’s every chance I will irritate the shit out of you.

    It’s worth mentioning the blog that pretty much inspired me to keep reading blogs. An absolute star, The Bloggess. I can’t put into words how bloody funny, witty and downright touching this woman is. Just check her out.
